( Many faces will be contrite on that day, )

( Labouring, wearied out, )

( Burning in the scorching fire, )

( Given water from the boiling spring to drink. )

( They will have no food except bitter thorn, )

( Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. )

( Many faces will be joyous on that day, )

( Well-pleased with their endeavour, )

( In the high empyrean, )

( Never hearing idle talk. )

( There is a stream of running water in it; )

( And within it are couches placed on high, )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  14
( Goblets set, )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  15
( Cushions arranged, )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  16
( And rich carpets spread. )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  17
( Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  18
( And the heavens, how it was raised high; )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  19
( And the mountains, how they were fixed; )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  20
( And the earth, how it was spread out? )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  21
( Remind them; you are surely a reminder. )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  22
( You are not a warden over them, )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  23
( Other than him who turns his back and denies, )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  24
( In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. )

* Al-Ghashiyah الغاشية  25
( To Us is surely their returning; )
